Social Media Parent Night
On Wednesday, December 10th from 7 to 9 pm, Mr. Chris Vollum, an Oakville, Ontario based presenter is coming to NPC to present to parents of students from NPC, GVC, Morden Collegiate, Carman Collegiate and WC Miller Collegiate about various social apps and sites. He will provide clear examples, significant benefits and also risks associated with social sites like Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, SnapChat, Tmblr, Vine, Pinterest, and others. The parent experience invites participants to bring and use their smartphones and tablets to gain new knowledge about the social apps and sites that their kids are using to define their identities, personalities and reputations. An interactive session, the takeaway is that parents will be educated with a deeper understanding on how to support and discuss benefits (of which there are many) and risks of these sites and apps with their children.
Students from all five schools will also have the chance to experience his presentation on December 10th and December 11th during the school day.
