The NPC library will be running a “Pay it forward”/ Book Swap for the month of May. This is in collaboration with YIP and their theme for May, “Pay it forward”. May 1st, the NPC Library will be asking for book donations. Bring a book, take a book. The books must be YA appropriate and in good condition. Each student that donates a book will receive a coupon to pick a book, as well a slip that encourages good deeds with names written on the back, which can be entered into a draw. Come to the library for more details about this event.
There will be a Track and Field practice today for the throwers. Coach Warkentine will be conducting the practice. Any throwers competing in Stonewall next week are expected to attend. Athletes should make their own way over to the track. Entries have been sent in for the Track and Field meet in Stonewall next week on Thursday, May 4th. Team members are expected to attend the practices on Monday and Tuesday next week prior to the meet. All of the coaches will be conducting practices on these days. There will be no practice on Wednesday, May 3rd due to early dismissal. There will be a practice on Friday, May 5th. Athletes should be checking in with their coaches on a regular basis to find out when practices are being scheduled.
NPC Jazz Café: Thank you for all of your support! Our early show is SOLD OUT! Still some tickets available for the 8:30 show. Come out and see our hard-working and talented Vocal Jazz Ensembles perform! Dynamix, Harmonix and VOX at 7:00 and 8:30 tomorrow night in the Choir room.
Any students gr 9-12 interested in playing in the High School Beach Volleyball Championships please see Mr. Alexander for information.
Intramural floor hockey today at 12:05 it is team 8 vs team 7 and at 12:30 it is team 5 vs team 3. Just a reminder to spectators that they should not bring any food into the gym.
Graduation & Scholarship Information
Attention Graduates! The 2017 NPC Scholarships, Bursaries, and Awards Application is now available on the NPC Guidance website http://npcguidance.weebly.com/npcgvsd-scholarships.html. All students who are considering post-secondary education are encouraged to apply. NEW this year – we have eight (8) $2000 Gordon W. Wiebe Scholarships to disburse. The application deadline is Friday, April 28, 2017.
Any graduating students wanting to learn more about becoming Valedictorian please attend a short meeting in room 220 at the beginning of lunch on Friday, April 28th.
BTHC Winkler Auxiliary Bursary applications are available at http://npcguidance.weebly.com/npcgvsd-scholarships.html. One bursary of $1000 will be awarded to a graduating NPC student wishing to enter post-secondary education in the Health Care Field… nursing, medicine, x-ray tech, etc. Deadline to apply is June 5.
