Morning Shoots are back! If you’d like to come in to work on your basketball shot before tryouts begin in November, you can come in Friday mornings from 7:30-8:15 beginning Friday, October 7. Coach Sumner will see you there!
The soccer teams dropped their final league games to Morden last night. The teams await their playoff game information – both teams advance to the quarterfinals which take place on Monday. Times, opponents, and locations are TBA.
Vimy Pilgrimage Award: Students can win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge at the Canadian National Vimy Memorial in France. Young Canadians, aged 14-17, who demonstrate outstanding service, positive contributions, bravery or leadership are eligible to apply for the Vimy Foundation’s annual Vimy Pilgrimage Award. This is a fully-funded immersive educational program in France and Belgium to study Canada’s tremendous First World War effort. 17 students will be chosen to participate in the program April 7-16, 2017. Any athletes that sold the Nighthawks discount cards are asked to return all money and unsold cards to Mr. Alexander asap.
It was a tough afternoon for the Nighthawks soccer teams yesterday, as both were defeated by the Morden Thunder. The boys lost in a 4-2 decision, while the girls were shut out 3-0. The season is not over yet, though, with both teams playing in the Zone IV quarterfinals on Monday in Morden and Carman. The teams are asked to meet Ms. Friesen in Rm 201 at noon today to find out where you will be playing.
FREE STUDENT YOGA CLASS - next Tuesday, October 4 from 12:15 - 12:45 in room 114 (drama) - wear comfortable gym clothes - mats will be provided - the class counts as a makeup hour - open to all stages (beginners to advanced yogis).

PAC Election Results
The NPC Parent Advisory Council held elections last night and voted in three members, Cindy Fehr, Lynn Reimer, and Michael Friesen. Cindy and Lynn are returing members and Michael is new to our PAC. Welcome!
As an FYI............ NPC is having some work done to the outside of the building. The workers are powerwashing the school to remove a protective coating that hadn't been applied properly. Once the powerwashing is complete a new coating will be applied. To facilitate this process the workers have placed plastic on the outside windows until the work is done.
