Fast running and personal bests were the order of the day for the Track and Field team at Zone Championships. A number of athletes qualified for Provincials. The Varsity boys 4x400 and Medley relay teams won their races. The following athletes are Zone Champions: Dionne Demke (200m), Sebastian Klassen (400m), Colton Peters (800m), Andreas Richert (100m). Congratulations to all the athletes that competed. The team begins preparations for the Provincial Championship in Winnipeg June 4-6. There will be no Track and Field practice today. All athletes are expected to attend one of the practices on Friday. See you then. Coach Mayhew
Summer Job Opportunity - Pioneer Hi-Bred job applications for summer field work can be picked up in Guidance. Pioneer will be picking up the applications on Monday.
If you need some help finding a job for summer you are welcome to fill out a Manitoba Youth Employment Registration Sheet so they can help connect you with potential employers. Registration sheets are available in Guidance. If you would like to visit the Youth Employment office, Briar Hildebrand will be there for the summer to assist you. She will be set up at Winkler City Hall in the Chamber of Commerce office (204)325-9758 (ext. 3).
